At the Monroe County Museum System, we fuel and cultivate our visitors' curiosity through the exploration of Monroe County's rich and varied stories, joining together to unearth meaning and illuminate relevant connections between the past, present, and future.

About the Monroe County Museum System

The Monroe County Museum is a department of the County of Monroe, Michigan. We manage the County Museum located in downtown Monroe, Michigan, and Territorial Park on the River Raisin in Frenchtown and Raisinville Townships which includes the 1789 Navarre-Anderson Trading Post, 1810 Navarre-Morris Kitchen, Replica French-Canadian Barn and Bake Oven, and the 1864 Papermill School. With the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 142, we assist in the operations of the Vietnam Veterans Museum located in Heck Park in Monroe, Michigan.

Board of Trustee meetings are open to the public and are usually held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Check our website calendar for any changes to this schedule, such as change of venue or meeting cancellation, as well as information about our scheduled events and programs for all ages.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Board of Trustee meetings may be held via Zoom.
